Honeysuckle Cut Back Restores Overgrown Fence Line for Westfield Homeowner

Big Boy Services recently completed a honeysuckle cutback project for a homeowner in Westfield, Indiana. The project began on June 17 but was temporarily paused when severe weather moved into the area. After conditions improved, our crew returned on July 2 to complete the remaining work.

The homeowner’s fence had become heavily overgrown with invasive honeysuckle. Left unmanaged, honeysuckle can quickly overtake fences, spread into lawns, crowd out desirable landscaping, and create an unmaintained appearance. Our crew cut the honeysuckle back approximately six feet from the fence, restoring visibility, improving access for future maintenance, and dramatically improving the property’s appearance.

Why Professional Honeysuckle Cutback Matters

Invasive honeysuckle is one of the most common vegetation management challenges throughout Central Indiana. Without regular maintenance, it can:

  • Overtake fences and property lines

  • Spread into lawns and landscaped beds

  • Grow into homes, buildings, and other structures

  • Reduce visibility and accessibility

  • Increase long-term maintenance costs

Professional honeysuckle cutback helps restore control, improves curb appeal, and makes future maintenance significantly easier.

Planning Winter Honeysuckle Management for HOAs and Condominium Communities

Although this project was completed for a residential homeowner, the same services are ideal for homeowner associations, condominium associations, apartment communities, and commercial properties.

Winter is one of the best times to perform large-scale honeysuckle cutback because dormant vegetation allows crews to work efficiently while minimizing disruption to the surrounding landscape.

The best time to schedule winter work, however, is now. HOA boards and property managers often finalize winter maintenance schedules months in advance. Reserving your project early helps secure your preferred timeframe and may allow your community to benefit from discounted off-season pricing.

Whether invasive honeysuckle is growing along fences, common areas, retention ponds, trail systems, or building perimeters, Big Boy Services can develop a maintenance plan that fits your community’s needs.
