Big Boy Services was hired to complete a brush cutting and limb removal project along the western border of a long pond. The goal was straightforward: cut back overgrown vegetation and open up the area.
As the before-and-after video shows, the difference was dramatic.
Opening Up an Overgrown Pond Edge
The project involved brush cutting and removing vegetation that had taken over portions of the pond-side common area.
Before the work began, much of the area appeared closed in by overgrowth. Once the brush was cut back, the property looked significantly more open and maintained.
The transformation is one reason why brush cutting can provide so much value for community associations and property managers. A relatively focused vegetation-management project can dramatically change the appearance and usability of an area without requiring a large landscape redesign.
For this Fishers condo association, the finished result revealed and reopened areas that had been hidden behind overgrown vegetation.
Going Beyond the Written Specifications
One part of the project was not originally included in the specifications. Several large limbs were hanging down into the pond.
Technically, we could have left them alone because their removal was outside the defined scope of work. However, after the brush cutting was completed, leaving those limbs behind would have made the finished project look incomplete.
So we removed them. There was no change order and no additional charge.

A Tough Week of Summer Weather
This project was completed on Friday after a difficult week of working in temperatures that reached the mid to upper 90s. The final day felt especially hot, with a heat index around 105–110 degrees.
Despite the heat, the Big Boy Services crew worked throughout the week and completed the Fishers condo association project as scheduled.
Because this was the only job scheduled for Friday, we were able to finish the work, offload the debris, and wrap up the week around 2:00 p.m.
It was a tough week of work. But it was a good week.
